Sickness

If you cannot take an exam because of illness or if you fall ill during the time of writing your Bachelor or Master thesis, you have to hand in an official doctor's note immediately (see your exam regulations), which states the medical reasons why you are unable to take an exam.

To avoid misunderstandings please take the form „proof of inability to take an examination“ to your doctor and ask them to fill in their part. After that, you have to submit immediately the fully completed and signed form to the examination office.

Submitting a certificate of sickness to the examination office withdraws your registration for the examination of the module completely.
If you are just unable to:

  • attend a class or a seminar where attendance is required,
  • submit homework as part of a portfolio examination in time or
  • participate in a written test being part of of a portfolio examination

due to a short period of sickness, do not send a certificate to the examination office.
In such cases, you have to bring the certificate to the respective lecturer and
ask for an extension of the deadline.
